Is Sixty Your Maximum or Minimum?

As a BabyBoomer one of my fondest memories is when I first got my driver's licence and set out on my first solo highway drive.

What freedom.

No one to supervise my driving.

Just me, my Dad's car, and the open road.

The 60 speed signs flashed past fast as I accelerated towards the nearest town 30 miles away.

I remember thinking that I had to be sure to do at least 60.

That was my mimimum speed. I learned from older friends years earlier the object was to do as many mph over 60 as you could.

Of course it wasn't long before the cops pulled me over and asked me if I knew was doing over 60 and told me - whilst writing me a ticket - that it was against the law.

From that day on I faced a new task - how to keep 60 as my minimum and not get booked.

That was more than 40 years ago and now 60 has a new significance.

It's soon to be my age.

Given the story of Noah and how they lived to 120 in his day, I have decided to keep 60 as my minimum and treat the coming years as ones of great expectation of good things to come.

After all many people are living beyond 100. Just yesterday I saw a 91 heralded as the world's oldest windsurfer.

I no longer have to deal with 60 mph being against the law.

I have a more serious problem.

Community pressure. The pressure to conform to the expectation that 60 is the end of life expectancy.

The "cops" don't wear uniforms these days but they are vigilant in reminding you that you
can't go beyong 60. They take the form of family and friends giving details of the latest retirement village.

They can also be found in TV ads and websites clamouring for the over 50's to take out special insurance policies.

They can be found in Church where the well meaning no longer ask you what you do for a living because they think your too old to be making one.

You and I both have to be vigilant in deciding that - at least when it comes to age - that 60 is still the minimum.

BabyBoomers of the world let us unite to remind ourselves that there is no law against thriving beyond 60.

Always be young at heart , positive in your thoughts, and encourgaing of others in your conversation and you will succeed.

From Baby Boomer to Baby Zoomer

My label is changing.

BabyBoomer to BabyZoomer.

I'm hitting warp speed when it comes to technology.

And I love it.

I even get to revisit the days of my childhood whilst on this exciting journey to keep up with techno change.

Oh for the days of sprawling in front of the radio and listening intently to the Caltex Playhouse.

I hung on every line as my 10 year old mind worked overtime to keep up with the well crafted storyline.

Storytelling was an art form in those days.

Yesterday I learned radio is making a comeback of sorts.

In the form of "Podcasting" - which takes its name from iPod and Broadcasting. Subscribers sign up for one month or one year for quality interviews delivered to your computer in the form of an mp3 Radio Show.

It will captivate many babyboomers with fond memories of radio broadcasts from yesteryears.

Forget the huge start up costs for radio station owners.

Even the Internet start up business operators can launch their own Podcasting network for less than $500 - maybe even less.

I applaud the efforts of the pioneers in the field of Pocasting - Paul Colligan, Mike Stewart and Alex Mandossian.

They will surely be the next bing thing on the Internet.

They will certainly attract many subscriptions from babyboomers keen to access broadcasts of the quality we grew up to expect in the 50's and 60's.

Where Is MY Social Security?

With all the talk about the Government running out cash for future funding for retirees I have been asking - Where Is MY Social Security?

As one of a growing number of approaching retirement age Baby Boomers I've had the wake up call.

My retirement income is in My Head, My Heart and My Hands. It will come from creative thoughts, my desires, my feelings and my effort.

I can no longer count on the Government to be my source of income.

I have decided I must reinvent myself as a Baby Zoomer.

A Baby Zoomer is a Baby Boomer who has made a choice to avoid all the gloom about an under-funded retirement and gets excited about the new season of creative income generation ahead.

Some of the Baby Zoomers ( BZ's ) have a new online home at-

Opposition Creates A Proposition

PUSH ON
As loved ones suffer a setback with their health is that a signal for you to take your foot off the gas pedal on your latest baby boomer business venture?

No Way!

You need to be compassionate but remain committed to your venture's success.

Don't be a push over for every wall of opposition life throws at you.

Push on. Give your venture all you've got.

Don't be taken captive by broken focus.

Reaffirm your fervent desire to succeed by using the great technology of Spoken Focus. Self talk your way right through to your next level of breakthrough.

You will see the importance of this when you look back to the last time you were on the verge of a lifetime breakthrough.

In that event you'll recall you backed off the special opportunity focus to become your loved one's carer.

Your fire for that opportunity was "hosed down". Even the embers went out.
Turned into a pile of lifeless ash.

This time round you can give a new meaning to sudden opposition to your plans to build a prosperous future.

Choose to view the opposition as a strength building proposition.

Your proposition is that your business venture is worth fighting for - no matter where the opposition comes from.

GET THE BREAKTHOUGH YOU DESERVE

In your heart and mind decide right now to hang on to your business dream as you care for your loved one.

Their challenges will pass and soon you will together rejoice in your success.

Take the time to fan the fire of your business idea whilst you care for your loved one without giving them your total focus.

Save your spoken focus for that which your heart truly desires.
You can get the breakthrough you've been chasing for years.

As long as you treat all opposition as a proposition to fight for your appointment in a successful business.

You Have A Goldmine In Your Back Yard
Your Goldmine is unique and contains
nuggets of great price which the world
would gladly purchase if only you were
willing to Find Them, Mine Them and
Refine Them.

1. Your Nuggets - How You Find Them

The secret centers on one word- Choice.

Do really want to find them?
Your desire has to be fired up. Only then will you
benefit from the biblical promise -
"Seek and ye shall find".
The good news is you don't have to seek very long or hard.

Because your goldmine is your life experience.

The events you've lived through and the skills and
knowledge you gained on the way have a million
dollar value.

Somebody said you don't my life , it's been
ordinary. Surely that can't be my life you're
talking about.

Yes it is.

Your life has been filled with problems which you
have found solutions to overcome.
You find your nuggets by asking yourself
"What problems have I solved in my life and how
do I package my solutions to market them?"

2. Your Nuggets - How You Mine Them

You need to ask yourself quality questions to get
commercial grade answers which can earn you
serious money from now and until you get to
heaven.

Remember "...faith is the substance of things
hoped for" (Hebrews 11.1) and you are hoping
with a life filled with happy and expectant
thoughts.

With faith in your heart and God on your side
your end will always be better than your
beginning.

3. Your Nuggets - How You Refine Them

Communicate or perish. That's a serious but
true warning. You need to talk regularly to
others to return to days of youthful vigor.

When you do talk make sure you use words
of blessing and encouragement. If you have
nothing good to say about someone then
say nothing.

Most importantly in all things give thanks.

Thank your Heavenly Father for the life
He has given you.

Thank your loved ones for the simplest
tasks they do for you.

That will give them a fresh love for you.

Thank the person that serves you the
next time you are in a store. You will
put gladness in their heart and a
spring in their step.

Go that extra step and express your
thanks in a hand written card.
That will bring tears of appreciation
to their eyes. They will remember
this moment for years to come.

You will get a deeper revelation of
the Bible truth "It is more blessed to
give than to receive"

4. Cleave To Your Loved One

Recent studies have shown that people
who have a loved one live longer,
healthier and happier lives.

Cherish your loved one.

Use your words to let them know you
love them. Use your body language to
let them know you are devoted to
them.

These actions will make it easier for
you to long retain days of youthful
vigor.

5. Continue to Make a Contribution to Society

We were born with a contribution
to make to mankind and one of the
best ways to foster high energy levels
is to continue with your life's work as
long as possible.

Be encouraged by the doctor continued
to practice in his 80's. His only concession
to advancing years was to shut the surgery
at noon so he could have a nap.

Even continuing at your work for
two days a week will ensure your
life force is in no way diminished.

6. Use It - Correctly - Or Lose It

One issue that is gaining in interest is
the correct use of the mouth for eating.
Significant research, almost 100 years
ago, proved slower eating will increase
your vitality. You will also only need
half the food you usually consume.

Try this for a few meals you will be
amazed at the sense of youthful vigor
which returns to you.

7. Have A Vision For Your Future or Perish

Have a clear vision of your future role and
work and you will receive the levels of energy
needed to carry out that work.

Let it drive you forward to an
exciting future.

Remember scripture warns us that -
"without a vision the people perish"
(Proverbs 29.18)

In review remember, firstly,
Keep a Hope - Filled Thought Life,
secondly, Keep Faith in Your Heart ,
thirdly, Always Have an Attitude of
Gratitude , fourthly, Cleave To Your
Loved One, fifthly, Continue to Make
a Contribution to Society, sixthly,
Use It - Correctly - Or Lose It and
finally seventhly, and, most importantly
Have A Vision For Your Future or Perish

These 7 Habits will enable you to discover
and retain the days of youthful vigor.
